In other words, Republicans who are abetting Trump’s bogus war on the election results are likely doing so because it bolsters their fundraising abilities in key races such as the Georgia Senate runoffs. Perhaps owing to the party’s effort to falsely legitimize the president’s argument, the White House has told federal agencies to keep preparing the administration’s budget proposal for the next fiscal year. And lest we forget, at least half of every donation to Trump’s “election defense fund” will go toward paying off his campaign’s debts.

General Services Administration chief Emily Murphy, who has blocked the routine release of funding for the transition of power to a Biden administration, was also at the agency when it reversed plans to move the FBI headquarters in D.C., a relocation that would have freed up real estate space for a competitor to Trump’s nearby hotel. “She has a history of being subservient to President Trump,” Virginia Rep. Gerald Connolly, a Democrat, told the Washington Post.
